The APB World Bodyboarding Tour will march into its European leg with the Sintra Portugal Pro kicking off from Monday, September 22 to Sunday, September 27.

The fourth stop on the revamped APB World Tour will feature all the top riders in all categories including pro men’s, pro women’s, dropknee and pro junior.

Last year’s winner and current¬†rankings leader Amaury Lavernhe (Reunion Island) will again be the favourite at the famous Portuguese bodyboard event however will face stiff competition from the likes of Arica Chilean Challenge winner Jared Houston (South Africa) and Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival winner Lewy Finnegan (Australia).

The event will also serve as the opening round of the men’s dropknee world tour, with reigning champion and six time world dropknee champion Dave Hubbard set to compete.

In the women’s division, reigning world champion Alexandra Rinder (Canary Islands) will be looking to extend her rankings lead but will come up against former world champion Neymara Carvalho (Brazil) and an in-form Sari Ohhara (Japan).

Ohhara defeated top competition to take out the Tahara Pro WWT event in Japan recently.
