The South African, who now calls Puerto Rico home, is at the peak of his ability right now and perhaps the perfect ambassador for our sport.
He is cool and calculated in competition, but not afraid to go big when the time is right. And in his latest clip – which can be seen as a victory lap after what was an amazing and emotional year in 2015 – he does indeed go big, very big.
But the party isn’t over yet, in fact, it has only just begun.
We’re excited to see how Jerry handles the pressures of retaining his post at the top of the rankings in 2016, with many riders hungry to dethrone the champ. Probably none more so than 2015 runner-up Pierre Louis Costes, 2014 champion Amaury Lavernhe and Australia’s most successful competitive bodyboarder, Ben Player.
But until then, sit back, relax, and reflect on what was an amazing year for Mr Houston and competitive bodyboarding.
