A Year of Travel

Follow Tassie booger Nick Nairn-Smith as he travels around the world in search of some epic slabs.

Filmed throughout 2013, Nairn-Smith gives us a great insight into the essence of travelling: friends, waves and good times.

Here is what he had to say on the clip:

In 2013 I went for a Travel. For 7 months I filmed a lot of beautiful waves and surfed a couple myself in amongst travelling to all sorts of cities.

I met a tonne of great people and saw some amazing places in both Europe and Indonesia-time has passed and I never put this up. I’ve never liked showing off other peoples waves but all of these places are well and truly known about these days and I think it’s a shame not to show people what’s out there!

Made me quite nostalgic thinking about this year that seems so long ago now. Enjoy some waves in Indonesia, Scotland, Iceland, Ireland and in my homeland Tasmania.

A big thanks to Chris, Dean & Jodie for having me as their Surf Guide and to anyone who helped us out with a place to stay along the way.

Riders and friends that feature in order are George Webster, Rory Lancellos, Aussie Karl, Thomas Webster, Remi Chauvin, Mathew Tildesley, Jeremy Faulds, Harley Ward, Sam Thomas and Charles Ward.

Filmed with much help from McAra Kirby-Fahey, Slim Tim and Rory Lancellos in the coldest of waters.
